Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a strong customer service to employee through effective and efficient HR administration and operations
- Provide guidance to management with employee relations issues
- Support workplace investigations and identify strategies for the promotion of a safe, healthy, and engaged workplace
- Support and develop HR strategies aligned with business goals
- Analyzing trends and metrics with the HR department
- Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances while participating in internal investigation processes and supporting performance management and dismissal processes
- Act as a role model and demonstrate organizational policies, ethics, and objectives
- Develop strong relationships at all levels to ensure effective execution of the HR strategy and initiatives
- Provide support to all team members to ensure departmental tasks and initiatives are completed in a timely manner
Qualifications/Experience:
- Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline required
- Degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration, or Industrial Relations is strongly preferred
- CHRP/L Designation with the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario or willingness to obtain is required
- Three to five years’ experience in HR, preferably in employee and labour relations
- Experience in a healthcare or unionized work environment is considered an asset
- Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset
